What's up family!! Hows everything going!! So this week has been the craziest week of them all, and of course no one (except grandad and mom ,you two are the best!!!) dear eldered me. So I get on here and have like 20 emails and no time to respond! If I dont respond this week, please don't take it personally!! haha Oh and I did get Scott's package! So good!!!! Thanks so much scott. Literally the box was filled with gold! So much good stuff! You're the best!! I feel like im getting huge cause all i eat here is candy! haha
So this week was definitely the best in the books thus far! Started off last Friday when we got to do the TRC after our pday ended and it was so sweet! Elder Fisher and I got to teach this old lady from Brazil and she was so awesome! She wouldn't stop talking and she was so happy! It was hard to get a lesson in because she just loved to talk! Man I already love the Brazilians!! It was so much fun!!
Sunday we had a devotional by one of the presidents of the mtc here which was way good, and then after that, we watched The Testaments which is so good!! Wow the ending of that movie is so powerful! Allergies hit hard if you know what I mean! haha But anyways, yah Sunday was a way good night!!
And now onto the best part of the week, the Tuesday night devotional!! So we heard on Monday a rumor that someone big was coming so we were pretty stoked! On Tuesday my companion suggested that we go to choir and sing during the devotional because he thought we would get better seating and I was like "heck no. I can't sing!" so we went on splits and I went to the devotional with Elder Russo! We got there as soon as they would allow us to and we were sitting second row on the floor in the Marriott Center!! So sweet! . We were like less than 10 feet from the podium!! SOOOO COOL! Richard G. Scott came and it was so spiritual! i love him. He's so awesome. He reminds me alot of grandad! Just a total stud! He talked about prayer and it was so good. Gosh i can't even put it into words! But any way, at the very end of his talk, he was bearing his testimony and he totally was looking right at me for a solid 20 seconds! So cool! We made eye contact for sure and it was just so awesome!! So glad that I can't sing, right!? haha But yah it was super awesome! And as Elder Scott was walking out of the Marriott Center, he turned towards us and said "be good"!!! And than he said "chao" which is totally portuguese!! Our teacher told us that Elder Scott once said that if angels were to come speak to us, they would speak portuguese! haha. so true! And than leaving the Marriott Center, there was the prettiest sunset ever. Oh so cool. Just an awesome day all around!! It all really just made my week!
Everything else is going really good though! My companion and I get along super well and I feel like I've grown like twice as much in the last week! The language is still slowly coming but it will get there eventually! So crazy to think how long I've already been here! I will ll get my reassignment next week, so the next time I write to you I'll know where I'm going!!It's like getting a second mission call! One of my friends got reassigned to New York City! How cool is that? That would be so sick. I'm hoping for like Chicago or something like that! I've definitely learned while here that our Father in Heaven has his reasons for everything. I'm so grateful for my time here at the provo mtc! There are so many things that I have learned from the people that are here. Way cool!
So this afternoon we will have the opportuniy to go to the temple which should be way good! Super excited to be able to do that for the first time since being here! I haven't done any curbside greetings of the new missionaries because it takes up so much of the day and I'd rather be studying, and I'm pretty sure that all my friends are already on missions so we haven't done it yet! I've kept my eye out for Elder Nicholson but I had no idea what he looked like so I've just been looking at badges. So thanks mom for the picture! I now know who I'm looking for! Sure sounds like you guys had a blast in powell and are now ready to start school. haha suckers!!
Well that's it for me. Things are going super good!! And remember "God didnt send us to this earth to fail but to succeed tremendously!' - Elder Scott. It's so true. He loves us so much and I have felt of his love so much in the last few weeks! The church is true! I'm so excited to be able to share it with the people of where ever I am going!
Love you all!!
Elder Holmes
