Crazy in Every Which Way!

Hi everyone.  Here is Nick's e-mail from this week.  At the end of his letter, he references a video clip that really touched him.  Here is the link for it.  It is short and powerful.

Hey hey hey!

Birthday shout outs this week to Matt Winters tomorrow!!  Hope you have a great day cuz!!
So this week was way crazy in every which way! First off I'll talk about my new comp Elder E. Silva! He's a brazilian from Fortaleza! Straight from the MTC! He's a boss! He's the only member of his family and was baptized like 3 years ago. But he's already an awesome missionary and knows why he is on a mission. I've heard that Fortaleza, the people from there, are pretty prideful. kinda like texas! haha! which is true. He is super proud of his state but he is super humble when it comes to missionary work. He is always asking me what he can do to be better! It will be a fun transfer for sure with him!
The arrival of the new missionaries was way fun! 34 new missionaries arrived on Tuesday so it was nuts! Quite a few of the missionaries of my group are training or finishing a training of another elder. It was was fun because they all arrived and all sat in the front while all the trainers stood in the back. They would call the new missionary to the front and then wait a little and call  the trainer and everyone would cheer, and the trainer would run to the front and greet his or her new comp! It was a way fun enviroment and everyone got super stoked! We stayed there for a majority of the day as they were trained in a few things and President talked with us as well. It was a way good day for sure! 14 new sisters arrived as well which puts our mission with like 70 sisters! It's crazy how many sisters are serving missions and how many are arriving!
I also had a meeting for all the district leaders which was way awesome! President talked a lot about leading the mission and how we need to lead and prepare the mission for the arrival of our new president here in a few months! We already know who he is, President Dalton from California. From what I hear he should be awesome! He gets here in July! It will be sad to see President Pinho go. He is such an awesome example, but everything should stay more or less the same!
The week was super hectic and crazy and we were able to follow up a ton with our investigators. Maria went to church yesterday and still is wanting to be baptized. Pray for her.
The other day we entered a house and the olympics were playing! Guess what sport it was? Curling! Oh man. I wanted to watch so bad! haha. Reminded me of when I totally destroyed everyone with my flawless technique of curling in Canada! We may have lost but the MVP still stands! Great memories for sure.
This week should be a good one as we have a ton of time to work! Hope that everyone is awesome there! I pray for you daily! I want you all to know that I know that this church is true and that it can bring happiness to those in need! During the training of the new missionaries they showed a video clip that was super awesome that probably some of you have already watched. It shows like 3 different families, one in Brazil one in England and one in the U.S.. People that are going through hard times. The guy in Brazil loses his son, the lady in England is running out of money and has 5 kids its super sad but super well done. President Eyring is giving a talk in the background during it as well. It then shows how they turn to the gospel and how their lives can become so much better through prayer and the scriptures! It is way good everyone has to watch it! I felt the spirit so strong but kept thinking 'man it's great that these members of the church found happiness when they turned to the Lord and his gospel, but what happens when those people don't know where to turn?' More reason that we need to open our mouths and show every one that we have the true message that can change lives and bring happiness! Love you all !
Elder holmes!
