Living it up here in the "Big House"

Starting out the week with a birthday shout out to Eric Cassity this week on the 11th and big Joe Winters on the 14th!! Hope you both have awesome days and enjoy the feeling of getting old! I also know that it would be Bobby Padua’s birthday this week on the 12th. I hope all the Padua’s know that i will be thinking of him and of you. He was an awesome person and I miss him a ton!

As well happy 30th wedding anniversary to the two best parents in the world! I am so blessed to have the two of you in my life. You two are the best examples that there could be! I for sure would not be here today without your example! I hope that you had an awesome day!!! Wasn’t it a year ago that you went to hawaii for your anniversary? Wow how the time flies! And now your cruising Italy and Greece! Man who do you think you are? World travelers! But you two deserve it for sure!!

So this week on Monday we had a family night with everyone like I had told you and it was super good and super fun! We left the message with them about staying strong in the faith with the help of our Salvador and then we gave the two families a picture of Christ. It was super good! Then after that we played the pig matting game with them which was absolutly hilarious! Meire was laughing so hard oh my gosh it was so funny. She couldn’t stop laughing which caused everyone else to laugh as well so it was a blast for sure! I’ve only played that game a few times here but it is always a winner with the Brazillians!

Tuesday morning we had transfers and i was transferred to the zone Gasa grande ("big house" haha) and I’m in the Jardim Campinas ward. It’s pretty sweet here for sure. It's the furthest stake from the mission office. The area is big but a ton of it is just forrest, which is pretty sweet! I stayed as a zone leader as well and am now with Elder Brelaz from Manaus, up there in the real jungle! I didn’t know him too well until now. Just knew that Elder Ely was his trainer. We has just a little bit more time in the mission than me so we’re about on the same level. it should be a good transfer with him for sure! We are both new to this area, just like my last two areas! The zone leaders have never been in this area before so this will be the first time. The missionaries who were here left us with 0 so we are starting from scatch! So it should be fun! I think President wants to show the zone that this area has people to baptize, and that every area has people to baptize! The ward is pretty small. I think there were about 70 people at church yesterday and the Relief Society is the stong part There aren’t a lot of men ! But we are stoked for sure!!! Our zone has about 20 missionaries in it so it should be good working with them!

That’s about all I’ve got for you on the week! It was a week of getting to know the area and building our teaching group!  Hope everyone is doing well there! Know that i love you all! Have a great week! The church is true!

Love

Elder Holmes
