I hope every one is doing well and is loving the cold there! Because here it is getting hot hot hot!
This was a good week for sure with a lot of fun things going on! To start out, last p-day I was not able to make coxinas because after we wrote emails, the secretary called us and told us that we had to go to the consulate again to get Elder's passport. So my p-day was robbed again! Today, as well, after I leave here, we have to go to the mission office because Elder Matsuzaki will be leaving today! So I have to leave him in the office and find out what they will be doing with me! This week i don't know who I will be with. I might stay without a companion for the week and just do divisions with members here all day long and then sleep in the other elders' house. But who knows! President did tell me that i will be training again here in one week so that should be good!!
This week we had interviews with President which was awesome! It took forever for all the missionaries to finish. While he was interviewing. the assistants gave a training which was good! My interview was good but fast as usual! haha. Man mission presidents sure do have a lot on their plate! The best news of the day was that now we can play sports!! Heck yes! Every first p-day of the month now we can have a zone activity and play basketball, soccer or volleyball, which got me pretty stoked for sure!! It has been a solid 1 year and 4 months that I haven't touched a basketball so it should be an interesting experience dusting off the old cob webs and finding my inner JR Smith again! Should be fun!!
This weekend sure was a busy one as well! The miracle of the week was that Sandra was baptized! Man it was so awesome! We had a lesson with her, along with another recent convert and a member, and they helped her so much. After the lesson, she told us that she wanted to be baptized on Sunday and that she would do whatever she needed to do to be ready! It was awesome! She told us that the first day she prayed about the Book of Mormon and the church, she got her answer. She said it was so fast that it frightened her a little bit! So Sunday before church she was baptized and than received the Holy Ghost during sacrament meeting! It was super awesome for sure! She bore her testimony afterwards, which was way sweet as well. Miracle for sure!
So that was my week for ya. Sao paulo is in need of a lot of rain. They are saying they might have to cancel the schools if they dont get it! But this week was good as it rained almost every day! Doesn't help too much with the work here but hey, how can you baptize if there isn't any water? Right!? haha! So it was a good rain.
Sounds like the mini Mtc was good and that the stake is preparing all the kids to serve missions. I think it was this last conference that Elder Cook told us about the kid who thought that just showing up to the mission is what he needed to do. Just showing up isn't going to cut it, that's for sure! The mission demands your maximum and if you're not ready, it will be a long ride!
Love you all! Have a great week!!
Elder Holmes
