Thanksgiving! (Uploaded on 12/1/14)

hello family!!

ManI can't believe it is already Thanksgiving this week!! It sure is a bummer that here in Brazil they don't celebrate it! I've been trying to convince some of the members to start the tradition but we haven't had any takers yet. haha! For the last 2 weeks we have been seeing a ton of Christmas stuff. They just don't understand that you have to wait 'til you have Thanksgiving in order to put up your Christmas things!

This week was pretty crazy that's for sure. Elder Matsuzaki left on Monday which left me in trio with two other elders from the other ward. I stayed with them until Tuesday night which was rough, seeing as there was only 2 beds, so Monday night i enjoyed the cold hard tile floor! That was a thrill! I felt like I was back in scouts on a campout! The experiences on the mission never stop, that's for sure! So tuesday night we had to go to the office to pick up my new comp which was good! Elder Medeiros from Santos, super close to us here. He as well is waiting for his visa to go to the states! He's going to Mesa Arizona and should be here for about 6 weeks. So yes I have become a world class english professor without you guys knowing! ha!  He is super awesome and this week we had an amazing week and had a ton of people at church yesterday!! The only bad news is that he won't be staying with me. President wants me to train someone who will stay in our mission, so Tuesday morning I will recieve a comp who has actually been to the mtc!! Should be good! I will be staying in Cipo, which is the best news of it all!!

This week we had a great week like I said. We found a 17-year old kid named Lucas and he is super awesome! The first time we taught him I just pictured him as a missionary teaching others the gospel. It was awesome! He told us he left his church but he can't explain why. He said that he learned a lot, but was just missing something! So needless to say, he connected with the restoration message! He was at church yesterday and I think he liked it a ton! We talked with his parents as well and they told us they would go this next Sunday. It is really amazing how God prepares his children to hear our message.  All we have to do is open our mouths!

We have a baptism today of an 8-year old Rafael. His grandparents are stong members but his mom isn't. We are working with her. Rafael told us he wants to get baptized on his birthday, which is today, so with the encouragement of his grandparents, we will be baptizing him at 5 before family night starts! We will then go and do a family night at his grandparents house with a bunch of people so it should be good!

This last week i have been listening a lot to all the conferecne talks and have learned and relearned a ton of things that our leaders have taught us this last month! I challenge everyone to read and study the talks. They are so awesome!!

Thats about all I've got for you. Hope you all have a great week!!
