What's up family!
I hope that everyone had a great week and from the emails, it sounds like everyone did! Another week filled with non-stop activities. The way the Holmes family always rolls! hahaThis week was a good one for us that's for sure! To start out on Monday after we wrote emails, we played basketball and soccer which was way fun! Let's just say that my inner J.R. Smith has not left me! Dad would be proud haha. It was way fun to be able to play after such a long time. We also played some soccer because all the brazis were complaining about the bball, so we played for them as well, but man did we destroy them! My team consisted of mostly Americans, 1 chilean and a peruvian, and we just owned! haha It was a fun day for sure! Everyone woke up the next day a little sore, but what can you do? It has been more than a year! This week has been way good as well! We have been teaching that family a lot and have they changed already! The dad, Jose, practically lived in the bar and now he hasn't been drinking at all! It's amazing to see the changes in the home when we keep the comandments! We went there with the bishop as well to help them get married and he helped out a lot. The mom just needs to get her birth certificate so hopefully her mom can send it this week so that we can get them married at the beginning of January! They are super awesome and were at church yesterday and liked it alot! So we are super happy with them!We have also been teaching another kid who's 19 and he's super awesome, Douglas. He has come to church 2 times now and is reading the Book of Mormon like crazy! He has expressed the desire to serve a mission as well which is super awesome! He told us he wants to go on splits with us to see what it's like and what we do all day. He brought his girl friend to church as well yesterday so we started to teach her too. But keep him in your prayers as well. He is super awesome! His parents don't support him because they raised him in a different church but we will try to work with them as well. This week should be good because we have our mission tour with President Costa that was supposed to be a couple weeks ago but now it will be this week next to the temple which should be amazing! Elder H. Silva is doing great! It has been fun to be with him. Mom asked how many "silva" companions I have had. haha! He is my 2nd. There are a ton of silvas here. It's crazy. Just in our zone alone, we have 3! As for companions, I've had pretty much all brazilians! I've only had 2 americans, 8 brazilians and one african!Well that's about it for me! It was a good week like always! The ward's doing way well and the members are super awesome! I hope you all have a great week this week! i love you all!!Elder Holmes
