Giovanah and her family before her baptism
Elisangela & the Older Gentleman who they baptized
Happy Missionaries and their happy converts!
Hey hey!Man this week was weak, that's for sure! Everyone has already forgotten about me! haha Looks like everyone is living the life up there. Christian and mom chilling pool side in vegas. Scott with all his friends in Park City! The week here was way awesome! The week itself was super hard because it rained almost everyday, which was super annoying! Sure makes the work a lot harder, especially finding new people to teach because almost nobody is in the street! But the week end was way aweome! We had 4 baptisms this weekend of 4 really awesome people! Just btws Renata is the one who's not married but wants to be baptized. She litterally is so elect and is helping to baptize the whole family. The husband works alot on Sundays so didn't come to church. She will be baptized eventually though without a doubt! Everyone has a different problem in the family so it's a little harder, but slowly they will all be baptized, I'm sure! The youngest sister Giovanah was baptized this weeked! We also had a baptism of this older guy who's like 60 and is super awesome! I love teaching this guy because everytime we have taught him, when he prayed, he prayed that he could be baptized! Then yesterday we taught him about the priesthood and when he prayed, he prayed that he could receive the preisthood and that he could baptize a lot of people! He wants a missionary badge super bad! It's funny! We also had a baptism of this girl Elisangela who is awesome as well! A few members did a really good job intergrating her into the ward and she has already talked to the bishop about serving a mission! Way cool! And then we baptized another African! His name is Dickson. He moved to Brazil just a few weeks ago and he literally speaks english better than I do! When he talks he speaks super formal It sounds like your reading the bible! The guy's incredible though. He already has such a strong testimony of the gospel, not to mention that he has so much swag! All the members think he looks like Akon or the Black Eyed Peas guy! haha Anyway, this weekend was definitely super special! This week we have transfers and unfortunately, elder assis was transfered! I really liked him a lot and he taught me a ton! I have loved that he was a native because it's more natural to speak portugeusse with him than it is with other Americans. Sometimes with other Americans it's just easier to speak english, but i know i need to avoid that! Assis only has one more transfer untill he goes home. He's an awesome missionary so I'm sad that he was transferred! But I will stay her and receive another comp who's a zone leader. It should be another good transfer! I don't know who it will be. Tomorrow we will go to the mission office for transfers! I was super grateful to have a native companion! It's weird though because its almost like we have 3 companions, because we all live in the same apartment, work the same area and two are zone leaders. It's good thought and I learn alot! I like the other zone leader a ton. Elder ely is a great missionary! He's from Utah and loves to ski and definitely reminds me of all my bros back home!!We get to go to the temple this week which I'm looking forward to! Our district is receiving two more elders as well, because the work is really starting to pick up!Hopefully I have answered most of your questions! I love you all! I know this church is true with all my heart! For Dickson's baptism I was one of the witnesses and it was so amazing to watch so carefully. Literally, after the prayer was said, he closed his eyes and fell into the water as if he were dead. When he came out, I knew that he had been born again in the gospel! He gave Elder Assis a huge hug and everyone could see his happiness! Elder Assis was super pumped to baptize him in english! I want you all to know that I know without a doubt that this church is the church of jesus christ! Never forget to share it with everyone!!
Love you all!Elder Holmes
