Hello family!!
It’s so good to hear from everyone every week! Sounds like it was a good week for everyone there! What noobs you are for not being prepared to hike mt evans! haha I guess all you eagle scouts forgot that little slogan "be prepared”! Maybe you’ll have to go back to being a tenderfoot!
This week was a good one for sure but lots of crazy stuff is happening here in Brazil! Things got pretty crazy down here when Brazil won. Everyone got pretty excited but they are way nervous that Brazil is not going to be able to win this thing! I keep telling everyone that the US is going to take it home so that they should just give up now! But we will see what happens this next Friday! It’s pretty crazy though. The police are always running it every which direction. I’m scared, as well, to see the reaction if they lose. I think they will revolt more in the center of the city though so our area will be safe! I think dad asked if we only stay inside during, the game but the answer is “no" we stay in for the whole day after the game because it’s after the game when it gets pretty dangerous with every one drinking and driving and what not so we have to stay in the whole day, which is a bummer. But what can ya do! On saturday when we stayed in I bought a cookie brownie mix and made cookie brownies which were delicious. They weren’t home made but hey, you have to make the baby steps and I’m slowly learning! haha
President Dalton arrived this week as well! He got here on Friday super excited! But unfortunately that meant President Pinho, or Elder Pinho now, had to leave. It was sad to see him leave but I’m pretty excited as well to have President Dalton. We haven’t met him yet though. All the zone leaders will have a meeting with him tommorrow and than he will visit all the zones throughout the week! But he seems way awesome and I feel like nothing really will change, just the vision of the mission will increase even more! So I’m pretty excited to see where he takes the mission.
As for the week, we got some bad news that one of our investigators is moving this Saturday. She was progressing a lot as well so it was frustrating, but we know who is in the area that she will move to so we will pass a free baptism to them! At the same time though, it’s good to see her leaving the favela that she’s in and move to a better area! I just hope she progresses! She’s been wanting to move for a while but this week she made the decision fast because her daughter’s boy friend was being chased by the police and they shot him and he died! Soooo It was a rough week for them and now they are moving, buuutttt she will be baptized for sure in better circumstances! Pray for her though. She is super awesome! Her name’s Erivan!
Solange is progressing super well and we have a date marked for her this Saturday! She is nervous cause she feels she needs to be 100 percent sure so this week she promised to read and study the Book of Mormon every day. She already has a testimony, but this week we will strengthen it for sure until her baptism! So pray for her as well! Her sister has been harder to find in the house but we hope she will be baptized as well next weeked!
That’s about it for me! Things are going well down here! Just the usual craziness because of the world cup! The church is so true and I hope every one looks for opportunities to strengthen your testimony everyday! I love you all and hope you have a great week!
