World Cup Craziness!

Ola!

I'll start out with the birthday shoutouts this week to David Lewis on saturday! Hope you have a great day bud and know that I'm thinking of ya! Happy late Father's Day to dad yesterday!! i hope you had a great day and everyone treated you like the king! I love you so much and hope you know that your example is everything to me! Congrats to Claire on the wedding this Friday! I hope all goes well there and am sad that I can't be there! But congrats and I hope you have a great day!!
So my bday was a pretty normal day of work! I went to Burger King because our lunch fell through, so it was an awesome burger with a large fry for Elder Holmes! No better way to celebrate a birthday than with a bacon burger, extra on the bacon! haha! Other than that we worked normal but it was a great day! As for the cd, it was awesome! Thanks a ton to Lee! It's super awesome! You're a stud! I watched all the Mormon Messages on Thursday since we couldn't leave the house after lunch! The world cup got pretty wild down here. It was fun to see. Everyone was wearing yellow and getting excited painting the roads and putting up decorations. The day before, all the kids in the schools were given horns and on Wednesday everyone was practicing how to celebrate with them! haha. So on the day of the game it was super loud in the roads and everyone was making a  bunch of ruckess! Even though I stayed in the house and didn't watch the game, I knew what the score was because of all the celebrations and fire works!  With every goal, everyone went nuts in the streets! It was like when we were in Spain but even crazier! But when Croatia scored the first goal it was a bit different reaction! I'm all for the states though!! USA ALL THE WAY!!  Our rule is that every game that Brazil has, we have to stay in the house. So tomorrow, as well, we will stay home after lunch. That means that today after I write you, it will be a normal day of work and my official pday will be tomorrow! Also, just to let you know there that next week I will be writing you guys on Tuesday instead of monday because of the cup! Just so you know! As for transfers, I stayed in my same area! WHOO-HOO! with my comp Elder Piginata! This is his last transfer so I'll be killing him! President Pinho leaves on the 26 and President Dalton will be arriving! Exciting but sad at the same time!

Other than the world cup the week was a good one and yesterday we had a pretty good crowd at church. Ricardo and Aline were there again and Ricardo brought one of his friends he works with. He left his house like 2 hours early to meet up with this friend to bring him to church! He is a stud. Unfortunately, he doesn't live in our area but I think he liked church a lot! We also had a mom and daugter there that are super awesome! This week we made a contact with the mom, Alex Sandra as she was struggling to carry her cat kennel home! So we offered our help and carried her cat to her house. Man the cat is huge. He's a fatty for sure so she was in strugs-ville big time trying to get her home! haha. Afterwards we talked to her about the church and she said that for 10 years she had always wondered what we do but no one ever talked to her. We were the first! The next day we went to her house and taught her and her daughter who's 12. The daughter is super awesome and talks and talks and talk. I thought she was about 17 until she said she was only 12!  But yesterday they went to church and found out that the mom has a bunch of old friends in the ward! It was like a little mini reunion and she loved church! She made a ton of new friends as well and she was intergrated super fast. Super good to see as a missionary! As well her daughter loved church and the young women already are befriending her super fast! Tomorrow she will go to a member's house to watch the game with all the youth! After church as well she said she loved it and the only doubt she had was how old you had to be to go on a mission! We told her 19 years old and she was like 'ohhh only 6 more years! That's so long'!! So it was a super good day to see how much they liked church and how the members helped out a ton! We also had another lady there as well, Solande, and she also liked church alot and become friends super fast with Alex Sandra. She said for sure next week she is going to come to church again! She has a sister as well that in the lesson on Saturday was crying because of the answer to prayer she had recieved when we talked to her in the road. That was a super spiritual lesson. Unfortunately she didn't go to church because her son got super sick but next week she's there!

Mom said something about the sister here in my mission that Nancy Lawson knows! I met her last sunday super fast as I was getting on the bus. Way small world! But tell nancy that I met her!

Well things are going great here with the work! The world cup puts a hinderance on the work but only for a little, and the work continues! The church is so true and I am honored to represent it every day! Love you all and have a great week!
