Look What Happens When You Pray for Rain!! (w/pics)

Wow I can’t believe that I am an uncle!! Crazy to think about! Things change so fast.  wow! I’d like to welcome little Nick Andrew Holmes jr. into the family! Welcome little guy! You two are going to be awesome parents for sure!! Congrats to Scott and Claire as well on the internships! You two are amazing and are going to do awesome things!! Orange county! dang! i know where I’ll be speding my summer! Bunking with the newly weds!! Congrats to Lee as well on his plans to go through the temple this week! It  will be an experience you will never forget! And to christian as well for just being an all-around stud!!

This week has been suuppper awesome for us here! Man things are going so well! This new area is the best!! To start off, I will answer a few of mom and dads questions. We are not the first missionaries in the area. The area, as a whole, opened a couple transfers ago, but not this town. So we are the first here, to open this town! For now  we are still going to the other city! The other missionaries mainly worked in the center of the town and didn’t go to the smaller areas outside, but we have been visiting an area that you have to take a bus to. It’s pretty far away and we are planning on building a teaching group in these other areas as well!

We have been teaching a bunch of awesome people this week, for sure! We have been teaching a family who left the church a while ago because the mom started to work on Sundays and then everyone else in the family ended up leaving the church Goes to show you how important mom is in our family huh? Shouts out to you momma dawg!) Well anyway, the mom returned back to church a few weeks ago because she never denied the fact that the church was true and she saw how much her family changed when they left the church. She wanted to return but was embarrassed and didn’t know how she would be accepted back! But then two members visited her house, one who as well went through a time out of the church, and invited her back and now she is going every week! Her kids are super awesome as well! She has a 14 year old son Natan, that was never baptized but worked on Sundays. We taught him the importance of the Sabbath day and the next day he quit his job to go to church! He is so awesome! So we are working with him and we are hoping his baptism will be this Saturday! He also has 4 brothers, 2 who live at home and we are working a lot with them to return to church and send them on missions! The branch president here is so great and works a ton to send young men on missions, so he was stoked to here that we found two more potential missionaries! He will definitely help alot as well! We did a family night on Saturday with them and it was super good!!

We have also been teaching this lady named Rafaela, who we found contacting in the street! We found out later that earlier in the day she had said a prayer, asking God for more light in here life!  Then we showed up! Answer? I think so! She is amazing but has had a super hard life and is seperating from her husband. She has two kids and she is just awesome!! She went to our english class that we are doing here and as well went to church yesterday and loved it! God really does answer the prayers of his children!

We had 4 people at church yesterday and are starting to teach a bunch more! We really are being super blessed in this area and are trying to be more and more diligent and obedient to thank our Heavenly Father for the blessings that he is giving us!!

The other day it rained like crazy! The road was super flooded! It was pretty fun, I won’t lie! Today we had p-day of the zone which was fun! It was super hot so I played ping pong for most of the time and won’t lie, I am still am a beast! Went undefeated here! haha! So watch out C-bear! I’m still the king!

Other than that, things are going super sweet! I love this area. I love the mission and I love my savior! (I love you all as well!! ) Have a great week!!

Elder Holmes
